Our client is seeking an experience Storage/Linux Administrator

2nd shift 2pm - 11pm

Storage Responsibilities: (EMC VNX, UNITY & HP 3 PAR)

  • Perform software, hardware and firmware upgrades on Storage arrays, Fiber switches, and HBA's.
  • Provision block and file storage from storage arrays to new and existing hosts (Windows, Linux, Hyper-V)
  • Coordinate disk space planning and management.
  • Maintain growth statistics, performance analytics and usage forecasts on the corporate storage arrays (SolarWind Storage Manager).
  • Perform regular health checks of the storage environment including the review of best practices and routine maintenance based on vendor feedback.
  • Recommend expansion and upgrade opportunities for planning and budgeting
  • Work within the production change control schedule and participate in change control discussions to help assess risk and impact of changes.
  • Participate in the Disaster Recovery
  • Testing of replicated storage LUNS in the secondary data center.
  • Ability to configure and troubleshoot multipath configurations.
  • Perform zoning and masking as required to provide high availability topology.
  • Assist Backup Administrator with Unix/Linux backups using Commvault.

Linux Responsibilities:

  • Administrator of various RedHat/Oracle Enterprise Linux Servers in the environment
  • Provision server build out within Hyper-V
  • Work with the Oracle DBA team on various need
  • Administer SolarWinds application and assist other administrators in using SolarWinds Orion
  • Assist with PeopleSoft (Primavera) support when necessary
  • Assist with WebLogic installations and administration when necessary
  • Assist with Tomcat/Jboss installations and administration when necessary
  • Assist in planning, installation and administration of Disaster Recovery for Linux servers
  • Ensure all Unix/Linux based Servers are adhering to change control and are audited
  • Understand and able to configure Posfix, DNS/bind/named, ntpd, ssh, LVM, multipathd, Samba/CIFS

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5-10 years of experience in Linux Systems Administration (RedHat, Oracle Linux)
  • Advanced Knowledge of EMC VNX & UNITY storage arrays
  • Advanced Knowledge of HPE 3 PAR line of storage arrays
  • Define practices to ensure efficient use of storage technologies
  • Effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information
  • Must be a team player with appropriate corporate conduct
  • Oracle database support experience
  • A solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, sockets and experience w/using utilities such as nmap, tcp dump, snoop and wireshark.
  • Skill with Scripting in KSH and python a plus
  • Skill with Samba, autofs, Kerberos, LDAP, SSL certs, Apache HTTPD experience a plus
  • Cisco and/or other network gear configuration would be a good plus.
  • Knowledge of HPE StoreOnce is a strong plus
  • Desire to learn new skills quickly
  • Other duties as assigned
