Description

Law enforcement client requires an Advanced Acquisitions Officer to work within a team finding solutions to security enabled devices that exhibit encryption and this presents a specialist capability.

Deliver technical solutions, employing modern technology and sensitive tactics, in order to develop intelligence and acquire evidence which contributes to cutting crime affecting the UK.

Essential

  • HND/HNC in Electronics or Computer Science or equivalent technical qualification with relevant experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in report writing and performance monitoring to a very high standard eg preparation of business cases, project planning and implementation

Desirable

  • An understanding of criminal law and UK legislation affecting Agency activity.
  • Knowledge of electronic engineering principles and PCB level repair
  • Knowledge of computer/mobile device security, hardware diagnostics and reverse engineering.
  • Knowledge of computer and mobile communications forensics technology.
  • Solid understanding of mathematics Forensics & knowledge in project planning and implementation of Forensics.

Experience

  • Experience in a technical role involving the development of future technologies.
  • Experience of working with the electronics, telecommunications systems, IP network management
  • Experience in software development in Windows, Linux, and/or Microprocessor based mobile devices, network communications security and protocols, hardware diagnostics and reverse engineering.
  • Experience of computer and mobile communications device forensic tools including analysis of data from a wider range of sources.
  • Proven experience of working to tight deadlines within a dynamic operational environment.
  • Experience of working flexibly and adapting to changing timescales and circumstances.
  • Experienced in effective decision making.

SC enhanced security clearance is required.

An applicant must have resided in the UK for a minimum of 3 years out of the past 5 years in order to provide the footprint required to conduct an SC clearance check. This is a national requirement for any applicant to UK roles that require SC clearance.

If contractors have ANY spent or unspent criminal convictions for any offence including all cautions and bindovers, but EXCLUDING minor traffic offences, they will not be eligible. The post for which they have applied is NOT protected by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974).

The full security clearance process can take up to 3 months from the date of the submission of accurately completed security forms for SC clearance so if you aren't immediately available or have a notice period this may not be a problem.
