JOB SUMMARY
This position has primary responsibility for providing tactical planning, engineering design, engineering consulting, documentation, equipment life cycle management, and technical support for the network infrastructure of our Fortune 500 client and associated subsidiaries.
Responsible for strategic planning, design, development, implementation, provisioning and day-to-day operations for the network infrastructure including Cisco data communications equipment; Routers, Switches, Firewalls, wireless LAN and others.
Ability to perform end-to-end troubleshooting for data and wireless networks.
Responsible for development and compliance of engineering standards including documentation, product life cycle plans, and design packages.
Responsible for coordinating field technicians and/or contractors.
Responsible for providing support to the local Operating Companies on issues related to network planning, engineering design, and engineering consulting.
Responsible for developing and participation in the successful completion of Network Services and Technology Organization initiatives.
Maintain strategic relationships with key infrastructure vendors.
The technology areas that may be in scope for this position include all technologies owned by Network Services.
Network Services owns all data network technologies, which includes network routing protocols, quality of service, MPLS, core data center and wide area data network routing and switching, integration of our network with an Internet service provider, establishment of VPNs (virtual private networks), voice call management, VOIP (Voice Over IP), voice contact center, video infrastructure technology, LTE wireless Routers, wireless LAN, and Firewalls.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of network systems such as data, voice and wireless networks including but not limited to IP Addressing, DNS/DHCP, Internet, Firewalls, Virtual Private Network (VPN).
End-to-end QOS knowledge across a Cisco LAN/WAN infrastructure.
Maintain and support WAN technologies such as OSPF, BGP, and MPLS when necessary.
Managing assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives.
Respond to inquiries from staff, administrators, business partners, site personnel and outside vendors to provide technical assistance and support.
Effective oral and written communications skills with the ability to convey complex technical issues in business terms.
Self-motivated with the ability to effectively manage multiple project responsibilities simultaneously.
Strong desire to keep technical skills current and remain abreast of emerging technologies, new versions of existing solutions, replacement solutions
Ability to build relationships, to communicate and work with all levels of management, vendors, and other internal and external groups and customers and exhibit positive influence at all levels.
Availability to consult, assist and/or perform after-hours support and participate in on-call rotations.
Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred); Computer Science, MIS, or technical degree in Computer Science or related technology.
Minimum of 5 years data network experience with Cisco routing/switching.
Cisco Certifications, a plus.

Managing a large enterprise network through day to day work requests and incidents along with associated project work.

Up to one day per week upon managers discretion after successful on-board
Is travel required?
Yes. Some local, occasional overnight, less than 10 percent
