Description

The Senior Enterprise Architect will work closely with, and from time to time need to lead a team of, architects within business, application/systems, data/information and technical architecture disciplines on specific programmes or activities. They will be proactive and capable of working independently based on assigned goals and objectives. They are creative, positive, dynamic, flexible, highly collaborative and always constructive in their approach with sufficient self-awareness to be capable of assertively and diplomatically exercising influence to achieve architectural goals with minimal disruption. The ideal candidate will have insurance life & pensions background - understanding policy admin platforms and experience integrating these Legacy systems in large scale complex migrations/integration programmes.

Functional or Technical Knowledge and Skill Required

  • Extensive experience in financial or insurance organisations
  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
  • Seven or more years of experience in at least three disciplines, such as business, information, solution or technical architecture, application development, Middleware, information analysis, database management or operations in a medium to large scale enterprise.
  • Five or more years of business experience in an architecture role in two or mode architecture domains (business, application, data, technical or security)
  • Full life cycle experience, responsible for the development of a complete set of architectural views for an enterprise in accordance with one of the more common architecture frameworks (eg Zachman, TOGAF, DoDAF, MODAF, FEAF).
  • Strong business analysis skills and experience, including development of business vision and strategies, functional decomposition, requirements capture, process modelling.
  • Strong knowledge of design and architectural patterns.
  • Experience of software development methodologies and structured approaches to system development.
  • Awareness of systems management and operational support tools
  • Security and/or infrastructure experience would also be a significant benefit
  • Experience and past success in developing and deploying solutions using Agile and Devops and cloud methodologies.
  • Capable in creating and deploying best practices and methodologies
  • Must be comfortable with agile concepts and approaches for technology delivery
  • Knowledge of business models, operating models, financial models, cost-benefit analysis, budgeting and risk management
  • Familiarity with information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, infrastructure and operations, and EA and ITIL frameworks
  • Knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), SOA, APIs, open data, microservices, event-driven IT and predictive analytics
  • Familiarity with basic graphical modelling approaches, tools and model repositories
