Job Description

Senior Software Programmer on the Network Management System team and is responsible for Design and Development of Network Management solutions for physical and software driven networks on virtualized platforms for Next Generation Network Devices (NG-ROADM, NG-PON, IP, Voice Applications, etc.).

JOB DUTIES:

  • Implements solutions architecture by building micro components/services, custom designs ensuring technical integrity and alignment with the business.
  • Utilize open source tools and have knowledge of current technology that can be utilized to the teams and organization benefit.
  • Identify, analyze, recommend and implement improvements in system architectures and facilitate developing of reusable components.
  • Perform design, code and test plan reviews to ensure IT development meets the needs of the business.
  • Communicate and resolve application interface issues by engaging other internal organizations.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross functional teams to solve complex problems creatively and make decisions.
  • Build strong internal or external customer relationships and manage high level expectations at all levels

MUST HAVE SKILLS:

  • 5+ years of experience with Java, SQL, HTML, Javascript, XML, JSP.
  • Strong working knowledge of Weblogic and Oracle databases in a Linux or AWS environment
  • Knowledge of the Verizon voice, data and transport networks.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of EJB, Web services and Servlets.
  • Knowledge of Verizons network managements and other service assurance systems
  • Knowledge of system development methodologies Dev Ops and Agile along with JIRA/Confluence

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.

REQUIRED SHIFT:

Standard, flexible, Mon- Friday and occasional weekend work; must be willing to work with VDSI teams (early hours in US) and also must be willing to work with all the teams across eastern, central, and Mountain Time zones in US.
