Senior Software Developer. Build and Release Engineer - Development and Operations - Jenkins, Docker.

3-6 months contract, London.

An exciting new opening has come up for a Build and Release Engineer with strong Jenkins and Docker to join my client's expanding team, based in Central London.

The purpose of the role is to automate build, release and deployment processes from scratch for cloud products.

This is an excellent opportunity to be a part of a team that embraces new technologies and ideas and encourages developers to bring their skills, experience and ideas to the table

Responsibilities include:

Working closely with other team members to develop and implement automated build, deployment and test pipelines for new products;
Designing and implementing an automated build process for software projects;
Supporting the continuous integration system;
Deploying multi-stack software builds to various environments (VMs, Cloud instances, etc.) using automation tools like Jenkins, Octopus, Ansible and Puppet, minimizing downtime.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate solid experience within the software development industry (especially within deployment, configuration or DevOps).

The following experience is required:

Automating builds, gated builds, and packaging for deployment;
Maintaining a production build system for large software projects;
Jenkins in a Windows and/or Linux environment;
Deployment of Docker containers in the cloud (Highly desirable);
Elastic beanstalk for deployment;
Scripting using Python and/or Powershell;
CI/CD deployment Familiarity with Build technologies like v-NEXT, MSBuild, XAML for TFS builds;
Builds on Linux operating systems or a deep familiarity with Windows OS and a willingness to learn Linux;
Branching and merging techniques.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator and problem solver who can work closely with developers, testers and operations. You will possess a keen desire to learn new technologies and be a part of a friendly focussed team.

Any relevant qualifications would be highly advantageous.
