ROLE: STORAGE - SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
RATE: €50-55 P/H
LOCATION: LA SPEZIA (ITALY)
CLEARANCE: SC/NATO SECRET
JOB SUMMARY:
The position is for a skilled Engineer administrator to overview and manage data and forecast requirement for the Scientifics environments. The engineer will perform activities related to daily operations and monitoring of virtual infrastructure. Provide Level-2/3 Virtualization/Storage support. You will be responsible for maintenance of all Storage and Virtualization environments at the Centre, effectively troubleshoot potential issues.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Perform day-to-day operations and management of a large Storage infrastructure, that includes EMC(Isilon, VNX), HP (EVA, MSA)
*Responsible for storage provisioning tasks beginning with end user requests, through the creation ofLUNs, mapping, masking, zoning, and ensuring storage availability at the operating system.
*Responsible for storage performance analysis and troubleshooting as well as storage capacity management and planning.
*Responsible for data migration as part of data center consolidation.
*Create scripts to automate routine administrative tasks and provide system level reports
*Install new storage, and configure in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
*Perform software and firmware installation, configuration, upgrade support and maintenance
*Support user requests for permission changes, file restores, virtual machine restores, new storage, and expansion requests
*Support Linux, Windows storage tasks
*Responsible for maintaining storage documentation and standards.
BASIC JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
*5 years of enterprise storage management with both EMC (VNX/Isilon) and HP (EVA/MSA)
*Must experience configuring storage controllers following industry best practice and security baselines
*Knowledge of CIFS, NFS, and FCP design, configuration, administration and best practices
*Experience on tasks such as aggregate creation, volume and LUN provisioning, CIFS & NFS shares and replacement hard disk reassignment
*Experience supporting application storage requirements, testing and implementations
*Ability to configure optimization, performance, and health monitoring
*Experience with OneFS and Insight
*Experience managing backup infrastructure;
*Basic understanding of VMware infrastructure specifically datastore provisioning and configuration
* General understanding of networking concepts such as VLAN, trunking, LACP, IP Addressing and routing
* Advanced knowledge of file services administration and permissions management and file auditing
* Advanced understanding of Microsoft Windows environment, including Active Directory, DFS Namespace, CIFS file sharing, and windows clustering
PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
* Certification: VCP-DCV or higher, CCNA Data Centre.
* Experience working with SolarWinds virtualization monitoring tools
* Effective prioritization and time management
* Have the ability to work independently in all phases of systems analysis activities and implementation
* Experience with Scripting code: Shell, Python, etc.
* Experience working with monitoring tools.
* Knowledge of basic ITIL concepts
