Description

One of my key clients, based on the outskirts of Brussels, are looking to embed RFID microchips (microchips with radio-frequency capability) into their products in order to ease the identification of the products instead of relying on serial numbers engraved on the product.

The microchip prototypes proved that the solution is viable and it is now time to build the IT infrastructure to industrialise the solution into my clients production plants in Europe. This will therefore include acquiring and integrating the 'reader' IT infrastructure (hardware equipment that will read the information radio-communicated by the microchip in the product) to the existing shop floor IT systems, then the Back End infrastructure mostly consisting of the central database where the master data will reside.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end technical project management and working with the technical delivery team.

My client is looking for someone who has the ability to listen to a business stakeholder explaining his/her idea with his/her own business words and translate it into an IT product. The hardware/equipment aspect is also important as the RFID microchip is already existing while the readers/sensors capturing the information through radio-frequency is what needs to be engineered and implemented in the plants.

The RFID microchips and the sensors have already been prototyped. The microchips will be inserted in the tyre by the engineers, the sensors will be fitted in the plant by the same engineers. You are therefore expected to design and deploy the IT systems (databases, Middleware) that will receive and process the data from the sensors.

To be suitable for this role you will have:
- Strong technical proficiency in the fields of automotive, data and technology
- Experience with manufacturing systems
- Start-up minded and 'can do' attitude
- Experience with RFID technology is a strong asset
