Microsoft Azure PAAS Specialist
For our prestigious client, we are currently looking for a Microsoft Azure PAAS Specialist.
The Azure PAAS admin will be part of a Back Office (L2+L3) support team which supports a whole range of on premise BI platforms for our client (such as Business Objects, Netezza, Informatica).
This setup will now be extended with MS Azure BI and analytics components:
- Azure Data Factory
- Azure Data Lake Store
- Azure Data Lake analytics
- Azure SQL Server Data Warehouse
- Azure SQL Database
The Azure PAAS Admin for BI/Analytics will need to support, operate and maintain the Azure BI and analytics solutions.
Main activities are:
- Guide offshore operation team in supporting the Azure environment
- Define & Improve monitoring setup
- Define & improve support setup
- Resolve complex issues
Secondary activities are:
- Day to day operational follow-up, support and assistance
- Handle incoming incidents and questions from developers/end-users, follow up and communicate on these incidents
- Provide support to the BI development teams and help in troubleshooting
- Liaison with Microsoft product & support teams
- Daily load monitoring
- deploy new application packages (releases/bug fixes)
- Maintenance of technical documentation
- Azure Configuration management
- General Azure monitoring (consumption)
Key Skills
Experience with the following
- Powershell
- Good knowledge of SQL
- USQL
- Azure Data Lake Analytics
- Azure Catalog
- Azure Monitor
- Polybase
- Azure SQL DWH
Good knowledge of data warehouse design and Business Intelligence concepts
Willingness to continuously extend knowledge on selected BI technologies listed in Secondary skill section
Experience with the Microsoft SQL Server BI stack (DB, SSRS, SSAS, SSIS) or other BI technologies (Informatica, Netezza, BI4, Qlikview) is a considered a plus.
