Role: Contract Mechanical Engineer
Location: M4 Corridor
Rate: £40 per hour
Duration: 6 Months
A rare opportunity to join this experienced and skilled team due to an influx of projects. The team rarely recruit within this area and this opportunity has a good chance of extension.
Key Tasks:
* Generating Mechanical and Thermal models in support of project and customer requirements
* Be instrumental in providing solutions for the application of innovative designs. Consider designs for lowest cost
* Generate product BOM's, piece-part drawings and part numbers, installation instructions etc and follow formal version control procedures
* Manage BOM's, configuration control activities and formal external data releases
* Liaise with ECAD engineers to ensure mechanical and thermal requirements are defined and met
* Provide technical input for Product, Systems and customer requests
* Liaise with Program manager to ensure customer (internal and external) prototype deliveries are delivered to plan.
* Communicate mechanical design delivery progress
* Drive DFM improvements with design and EMS teams
* Manage effective change control and product quality enhancements internally and externally
* Ongoing support of quality ISO internal procedures & ensuring teams adhere where required
