Senior VMWARE Integrated Openstack and NSX specialist
IFSC, Dublin 1
6 Month Contract (Expected to extend out to 12 to 18 months)
Purpose of the requirement:
- Support a brand-new customer deployment based on VMware Integrated Openstack.
- Design, implement and ongoing use of various tooling to make delivery seamless:
- Service more stable;
- Business as Usual operations teams more capable of undertaking complex tasks;
- Where applicable using scripts to deploy Windows and RHEL VM.
- Participate in troubleshooting activities engaging vendor support, eg VMWARE.
- Provide input to design LLD documentation, runbooks, policies and procedures.
- Provide assistance and guidance as an escalation point for issues and incidents.
- Work collaboratively with peers on engineering, operations, and support tasks.
- Ensuring all service level agreements are met.
- Prioritize work appropriately to consistently achieve departmental and company goals.
What is the customer's business Challenge?
Client is upgrading the end client's estate, both desktop and server to extend the life of the current assets and to improve resilience, security etc. This role will be to support the development and continued build out of our core banking solution platform which is underpinned by VMware integrated openstack and NSX technologies.
Skills/Competencies
- VMWARE VCentre, ESX, NSX
- VMWARE Integrated Openstack 3.1 or newer
- Redhat Linux (knowledge of Ubuntu is a strong plus).
- 4-5 years of support and deployment experience
- VMWARE vRealize Operations and Log Insight.
- Middleware, eg JBoss, Web Sphere, Mulesoft, Tivoli, etc.
- IBM tool chain (eg Cloud Orchestrator, Monitoring, Storage Manager).
- Automation tools, eg Ansible, Chef and Puppet.
- Shell and/or Python Scripting or other experience in programming is welcome.
- Hashicorp tools, eg Terraform, GoCD.
- Atlassian tools, eg Jira and Confluence.
- Lenovo XClarity and IMM2.
Desirable
Prior experience of banking and financial services would be an advantage
