Description

Mobile Packet Core Engineer required to join Global Technology and Communications Company.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Full understanding of 3GPP 2/3/4G mobile networks, including the RAN, Core Network and supporting infrastructure, such as OAM, Charging and Authentication systems
  • Long experience of working with 2/3/4G mobile packet core nodes for a network operator and/or equipment vendor, including MME/SGSN, S-PGW/GGSN and ePDG
  • Practical working knowledge of Cisco ASR and vPC technology, including deployment, configuration, software upgrading and troubleshooting
  • Practical working knowledge of deploying and configuring VMware Sphere and/or Openstack virtualisation installations, including understanding the concepts of NFVI, VNFs and MANO
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience with mobile packet services design, integration, verification and acceptance testing and service migration
  • Experience integrating defined 3GPP interfaces, internally within the EPC and to external nodes such the BSC, RNC, eNB, HLR/HSS, OCS, OFCS, RADIUS, DNS, PCRF, MSC, IMS, etc.
  • Experience with advanced mobile packet services, such as VoWiFi, VoLTE and Policy Control & Charging
  • Good IP Networking skills, including MPLS and BGP
  • Understanding of network Servers, ideally Cisco UCS and HP
  • Good knowledge of Linux, with the ability to create and work with Scripting languages such as BASH, PERL, Python and AWK
  • Good knowledge of IP security, including SeGWs, Firewalls and ACLs
  • The ability to be able to troubleshoot and fault find, using protocol analysers, performance statistics and node debug logs
  • The ability to be able to work unsupervised, be self-motivated and demonstrate capability and subject matter expertise

Leads and works on projects that are medium to large in scope with moderate complexity, which involves solutions integration.

Independently develops plans, coordinates and executes tasks.

Ensures commitments and deliverables are met. Recommends and initiates projects to benefit customer and Advanced Services objectives.
