Financial Technical Administrator

My client a leading energy provider is looking to engage a financial technical administrator on a 12-month contract to join them at Heysham power station in Lancashire. In order to apply, you must be able to drive full SAP, interrogate financial spreadsheets, self-start and have a strong financial bias. You will also need to apply for a Basic Disclosure Scotland certificate as this is a secure site and undergo a drug and alcohol test.

You will be reporting to the Project Controls Leader/Project Portfolio Manager (PPM) where you will assist the site based project team and key stakeholders at the station in order to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of Investment Delivery. Providing an effective PRC management, financial analysis, monitoring and reporting service with a multi £M portfolio. You will need to operate in a flexible manner and transition between various tasks as required supporting Investment Delivery. This is a site based role.

Nature and Scope

  • HYA Station PRC administration & technical support/guidance to station.
  • HYA IDT Procurement Technical administrator.
  • Provide general administrative support.
  • Co-ordinate inductions for new starters, giving general guidance and orientation mentoring. Initiate training requirements identified.
  • Co-ordinate CRC activities at HYA site for IDT & Manage & maintain team training records in the LPP SQEP Database.
  • Produce reports when necessary from the SQEP Database.
  • Act as point of contact for general queries on the above.
  • Provide cover for others in the department as and when required where appropriate.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Maintain auditable records of procurement process aligned with protocols
  • Maintain Investment Delivery team order cover.
  • Raise PMR and Managed Service Requisitions and process estimates through Barnwood.
  • Track timesheet & expense bookings to process GR and Manual Accrual posts.
  • PMR invoice and application reconciliations.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience:

  • Capable of interrogating SAP/Business reports in support of IDT management.
  • Problem-solving/good stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent MS Office skills, including MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • High level of numeracy and analytical skills, including the use of appropriate IT tools.
  • Discretion in maintaining business and commercial interests is of paramount importance.
