Field of Activity

Investment Funds Service (IFS) IT section builds, maintains and operates a portfolio of applications which provide clients state of the art solutions to standardise fund processing, and to increase efficiency and safety in the investment funds sector.

Our global funds processing platform Vestima allows for reaching all types of funds, from mutual funds to ETFs and hedge funds.

Task/Responsibilities
You will take responsibilities in a broad range of architecture, infrastructure and security engineering activities, especially covering IFS Web applications running Progress OpenEdge Application Server; you will as well act as a database administrator for Progress OpenEdge databases.

As such, you will be a key member of the working group in charge of designing, delivering for, administrating and supporting those areas.

Your assignments will include:
Designing, developing, delivering and documenting OpenEdge Appserver/Webspeed and httpd Web server infrastructures.
This especially covers the security and deployment/sizing configurations, as well as the deployment, operation and monitoring tooling
Participating in the creation and documentation of the architecture and security of IFS systems in general, including critical Internet customer-facing applications and systems using Public Cloud services; you will also be working on the applicable processes and standards
Acting as a database administrator for OpenEdge RDBMS, performing configuration, investigation and maintenance tasks
Monitoring and optimizing the usage of Progress software licenses
Assessing and driving the OpenEdge software upgrades
Interacting with Progress Support engineers, managing support cases and product roadmap
Participating in Middleware infrastructure activities that extend beyond the OpenEdge technology, especially in the area of enterprise Java
Analysing and remediating security vulnerabilities and security risks
Working with the other group members, reporting to the group lead
Participating in production implementation activities
Qualifications/required skills

  • University Degree (or equivalent) in computer science
  • Experience in configuring and deploying Progress OpenEdge 11 Classic AppServer/WebSpeed/WebSpeed Messenger. Knowledge of Pacific OpenEdge Application Server, Apache httpd and Apache ActiveMQ would be an asset.
  • Experience in configuring, deploying and maintaining Progress OpenEdge database
  • Experience in ABL programming language
  • Practical knowledge of TLS and public key cryptography, certificate and key deployment
  • Minimum experience in the Java language and a Java enterprise platform such as JavaEE or Spring
  • Understanding of the challenges posed by critical enterprise Web Middleware infrastructure, especially in the areas of information security, high-availability and performance
  • Ability to structure and document architecture and security concepts; very good English technical writing skills 

Practical experience in the following technologies:
o Linux and Windows OS; Shell Scripting
o a Version Control System, preferably Git
o an IDE (preferably Progress Developer Studio/Eclipse)
o XML Schema
o Apache Maven
o Apache Ant
Additional assets will be: experience with public Cloud services and APIs (preferably Microsoft Azure); experience with Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes and Ansible
Proficiency in written and spoken English; French and German language skills will be an asset

Assignment:

Fulltime (100%)
Duration: Initial contract 3 months (optional extension)
Start: 1st of August 2018
Location: Luxembourg
