Wintel Engineer; VCP VMWare Certified Luxembourg 6 month contract
The main responsibility is to provide support for our EMEA Infrastructure Platforms and contribute to global platform projects
- Daily monitoring and maintenance tasks on our EMEA Infrastructure.
- Monitoring and maintaining EMEA Servers & Storage, both Hardware and Software
- Monitoring and maintaining EMEA VMware infrastructure
- Enhance the Server/Storage infrastructure to productively manage availability to business.
- Provide 2nd/3rd Line support for Server Hardware and OS, VMWare & Storage
- Assist in the support of our Backup solution, EVault
- Provide Project resource and consultancy
- Participate in the On Call Support rota
- Provide out of hours On Call support
- Work out of business hours when required
Required Qualifications
At least 5 years in an enterprise IT environment with a high level of exposure to Wintel systems.
3rd Level qualification
Preferred
MCP or MCSE - Microsoft Certified
VCP - VMWare Certified
Technical Requirements;
- A full understanding of Windows Server OS, in particular Windows 2012 & 2016
- Strong knowledge of HP Hardware - Including Blade Infrastructure & Rack mounted Servers
- Good Knowledge in Active Directory
- Good Knowledge of VMWare technologies
- Familiarity with HP Storage range - specifically HP 3PAR
- Some basic understanding of Cloud technologies such as Azure, Amazon AWS & Logic Monitor would be beneficial
Special Requirements;
Preferred
- Very good troubleshooting skills in the platforms environment
- Comfortable working in a Global Technology Team and participating in global activities
Please note; unless you have a Luxembourg set up you need to work via an umbrella company to pay tax and social security in country. We need this done from day one. Tax and social security is circa 34%, the umbrella company pay you direct into your bank every month and the take care of all administrative work - insurance/indemnity and so on. Simple, easy, legal and a must-do for EU contracts. You have nothing to do but the work you are contracted to do and send a timesheet at the end of the month. They charge 700 euros month for the first 6 months, 550 euros there-after. This is a simple one-stop-shop and the best way to work legally in Luxembourg.
You can also register a UK (or other EU country) limited company in Luxemburg via an umbrella company and an A1 form - higher retention (higher take home for you), More like 79% but you will have to do your accounts and your Limited Company must be existing, ie you cannot create one especially to do this!.
