Work Environment/Conditions

The work has to be performed in the client's premises in Brussels. The candidate will work in the Infrastructure Management Operations team, report to the operation managers and head of operations and staff the On-Call Services, as described in the Framework contract.

The candidate may be required to perform missions to any of the EU Delegations.
Working languages are French and English.
A more extensive list of tasks, skills, experience, education, technical certifications, presences etc. is described in the Framework Contract, notably in Annexes III and VIII of the Tender Specifications.
The services to be provided are at the level Senior System Administrator.

The following tasks will be requested by the client:

A. Project Network assessment

The main tasks will be to per form a computer network "assessment" within the client's public network to:

1. provide an insight into how effective network control and practices are, ie its compliance to internal and external network and security policies and regulations and designed architecture;
2. build an inventory of all existing documentation and diagrams, operational processes and procedures;
3. review the collected information, identify gaps and propose recommendations (environment and process);
4. design and support the implementation of those recommendations in accordance with the defined ITIL processes and procedures;
5. hand-over to operations including trainings;

To get an understanding of the client's IT environment and the implemented Network and Security services as preparation of the above project, the provider will have the support of IT OPS management, the network operational team coordinator, the network and solution architect and the Service Owners for network and security services. The scope is limited to the network devices (Routers, Switches, Firewalls, load balancers...) and excludes Servers and Workstations.

Knowledge and skills

  • Proven experience in perform computer network assessments or audits;
  • Understanding of network related HLD and prepare supporting LLD;
  • Very good knowledge of network administration including operation and management of routing, switching, Firewalling, VPN and load balancer devices and services;
  • Understand all concepts and best practices of network segregation and zoning; working experience in such an environment;
  • Practical experience using monitoring tools: Cacti, Solarwinds, Nessus, Anomaly Detective, Splunk or similar;
  • Experience with debugging tools such as Wireshark;
  • Ability to write technical notes in English;
  • Capability of integration in an international/multi-cultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experienc e in team working;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Quick learning ability is required, being organized, versatile and a results-oriented team player;
  • Experience in providing support for an enterprise environment;
  • Ability to cope with fast changing technologies and environments.
  • Minimum 2 network-related technical certification: Cisco CCDP/CCNP, CCNA, CCDE/CCIE, CCAr or relevant certifications issued by F5, Juniper, Palo Alto or others;
  • ITILv3 Foundation certification;

Assets

  • Operation and management of Cisco network devices and services (Nexus 7k & 9k), F5 Accelerators, Juniper SRX & Palo Alto Firewalls and HP user Switches;
  • Operation and management of FireEye Email Security service;
  • Expertise in Network Security;
  • SANS certification related to Network Security;
  • Practical experience with Palo Alto Panorama Firewall management tool and Skybox Cybersecurity Management Platform.

12 months contract with possible extensions
