Purpose of Role
The Senior Systems Engineer will be enthusiastic, organised and has excellent interpersonal skills. You will design, implement, operate, and improve our IT infrastructure. While working in a demanding high-tech environment, you will support members of the organisation using your knowledge on IT. You will be challenged to improve (parts of) the infrastructure in order to facilitate our continuous growth.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Provide technical services and support to the following areas;
o Network Level (MPLS): WAN and LAN connectivity, Router, Firewalls, and Security
o Internal Systems, Cloud, and network Infrastructure
o Microsoft Related technologies: Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, SCCM
o Virtualization Technologies: Citrix and Microsoft
o Remote Access Solution: VPN, Terminal Services, and Citrix.
o Remote monitoring and management of systems alerts and notifications.
Work on 2nd and 3rd line escalated support issues related to our core business solution.
Perform network assessments and security audits.
Document maintenance for all computer systems and network infrastructure.
Communication with Staff as required:
Keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages.
Be available for other engineers and coach them to resolution.
Ensure high availability of the systems.
Ensure the systems are safe and secure as in line with the company security policy.
Following acquisition assist with the assessment of the acquired systems and project of integration.
Required Advanced Technical Proficiencies:Hyper-V, Citrix, SQL, and Terminal Services
Exchange Server
Windows Server
WAN Technology (MPLS, VPLS, VPN)
MCSA Server (or part of, working towards)
MCSE Server Infrastructure (or part of, working towards)
OS troubleshooting
VPN connectivity troubleshooting and configuration (Cisco,IPSec).
Security software such as Anti-virus, Anti-SPAM, Anti-Spyware, and other security related technologies
