Margin Control Specialist - Exchange - GMI (Sungard) - Contract - £200/day. City based Global FS entity seeking a contract Margin Control Specialist.
Margin Control - Margin Call dispute resolution for customers, understanding Market Regulations and changes impacting external Margining rules
Key purpose of the role:
* Protect the integrity of the Company in regards to its customer Margin Call obligations
* Understand and identify issues with Call calculations
Summary of responsibilities
* The purpose of the job is to prevent client and regulatory risk to the firm as regards margin
* Participate in review of manual margin processes and calculations
* Enforcement of margin policy
* Research and assist in the reporting and resolution of margin calculation issues
* Test margin modules in core systems
* Validation of margin calculations
* Assist with project planning, specifications, and UAT, as regards margin systems
* Serve as a subject matter expert resource
* Escalation of noteworthy margin calls
* Adherence to Company policy
Competencies

* Responsibility for managing, controlling, preparing and escalating risk within the scope of your position.
* Responsibility for reading, understanding and complying with the Company's Conduct and Standards and corresponding regulations. You will be notified of changes to policies in a timely manner through announcements and/or Intranet updates.
* Act with integrity and due skill, care and diligence in carrying out your duties. Your actions should always be able to satisfy high standards of scrutiny.
* Observe proper standards of market conduct.
* Responsibility to ensure that you take reasonable steps to be fully aware of, understand and comply with all regulatory requirements from all regulatory bodies that are applicable to your business
* Minimum 5 years of working in a margin environment, preferably with an Exchange
* Minimum intermediate working knowledge of Excel, with the ability to write macros, and work with pivot tables preferred.
* GMI (Sungard) experience preferred
* Ability to use and understand Exchange Margin Calculators
