Solutions Architect

A Solutions Architect with is required to work on a three month contract with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Preston

This is an opportunity working with our Global Aerospace Customer.

Overview of the Solutions Architect contract role

Reporting to the Head of IT Enablement with delegated IM&T functional authority from the programme's Solution Design Authority (SDA).

Lead the IM&T solution design across the ECTP Projects, acting as the Project Technical Authority for these projects, under the overall governance of the Programme Solution Design Authority. The Solution Architect is accountable for the translation of solution requirements into a coherent Solution Architecture, to be expressed via architecture and design artefacts in accordance with the methodologies, processes and tools defined with the ECTP Technical Management Plan(s).

  • Identify and evaluate technical solutions that meet the Business Requirements agreed during the Solution Review and which align with the design standards and constraints defined with the ECTP Solution Definition Document (SDD) and Architecture Design Document (ADD).
  • Ensure the solutions meet their requirements and are technically feasible and aligned to IM&T strategy, and are within programme costs and timescales.
  • Responsible for the technical integration of ECTP IM&T Solutions with other solutions and within the overall Programme integration framework.
  • Architectural design alignment and integration with the programme's IM&T solution and technology suppliers.
  • Liaise with the EITS technical architect community to support the development of the Group Common Solutions, including the peer review of EITS technical specifications, solution designs, integration, test and acceptance plans.
  • Ensure that the ECTP technical solutions align with the IM&T functional/application governance standards and solution roadmap(s) as defined and agreed at the IM&T Architecture Review Board.
  • Attend and contribute to the Group Common Solutions Technical Working Groups, as appropriate.
  • Support the Verification and Validation of IT project test artefacts, including test definitions, review of test evidence, test data, including technical sign-off.
  • Act as the interface into the technical infrastructure providers for the design of the technology infrastructure required by the ECTP projects (where appropriate).
  • Support SDLC life cycle reviews as defined with the ECTP Technical Management Plan.
  • Support the LCM Design Review process under the direction of the programme's SDA
  • Attend and report into the ECTP Technical Management Meetings.
