Description

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Commercial Fisheries Consent Expert to work with one of our leading renewable energy clients for their offshore wind farm project. The location for this role will be London based at our clients prestigious offices. We are looking for an individual who can start this 15.5 freelance contract role starting 14th August 2018 up until 30th November 2019 with the possibility to extend further thereafter. The consultant must be prepared to travel to the clients other site which could be as many as 6 travelling days a month.
The Role:
  • To liaise with management of fisheries stakeholders and environmental contractors on environmental reporting.
  • To support and manage consent compliance for the UK construction and operational wind farms across one or more sites or specific environmental or licence required topics in relation to commercial fisheries and/or fish ecology
  • Provide fisheries/environment and/or consenting support the relevant Consent Manager in the Construction and/or Operations phase
  • To ensure key fisheries stakeholders are aware of planned surveys, construction works, operational windfarms and liaising with the internal Site Investigations/HSE/Vessels/Procurement teams.
  • Manage the survey and related reporting requirements for UK offshore wind farm authorities (Marine Management Organisation, Natural England)
  • To provide strategic commercial fisheries support to internal stakeholders
  • Make sure that the project team and the clients suppliers comply with company HSE policies
  • In addition the Consultant will report to the relevant Consents Project Manager and offer input to offshore sub-package budget updates for lead topic areas and internal gate documents
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and experience of offshore projects in the UK particularly in managing commercial fisheries, fish ecology and the associated stakeholders in this areas
  • Must have a clear understanding of fishing practices around the UK
  • To have experience with delivering project activities to programme, cost and specification
  • Experience with managing multiple external resources
  • Awareness of renewable energy and planning policy and the complexities of delivering NSIP projects
  • Must have experience of fishery liaison
  • Must have a proactive approach and recognise the importance of deadlines
Special Provisions:

The Consultant must have his/her own PC with MS Office software and must be in possession of an iPhone 4S, 5C, 5S, 6 or 6+ or a Windows Phone 8.1.
The Consultant must have his/her own PPE equipment
