E&I Engineer - Strategic
Solihull with options to work from home
Initially until the end of 2018.
Pontoon has received an excellent opportunity for an experienced E&I Engineer to join one of the UK's leading Utility companies based in Solihull. You'll provide your expert knowledge within the Asset Management Team and advise on policies, costs, remediation work and any other areas within the E&I sector.
Experience and qualifications
- Knowledge of legislation, standards, safe working practices, and environmental best practice.
- Knowledge of HP Gas AGI Station design & Maintenance (Electrical) - Preferable
- Electrical Engineering degree (IET accredited), or the minimum of an electrical HNC/HND with substantial experience
Day to Day
- Provide a safe, efficient and effective strategy to E&I assets to deliver key business objectives.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets for CAPEX/OPEX activities.Develop and maintain an effective programme of equipment inspection to meet statutory requirements.
- Work with service providers to support competency assessment and job requirements eg tools etc.
- Formal qualification in an Electrical, Instrumentation or Control discipline with previous site based experience within an E&I capacity
- In depth industry knowledge and experience
- Track record of developing E&I maintenance programmes and equipment reliability targets
- A working knowledge of IEE Regs, COMAH, Process Safety and/or Hazardous Area classification(SR25)
- A practical appreciation of electrical safe systems of work (previous experience as an Electrical Authorised Person)
- Support the management of all HSE, technical and compliance risks associated with electrical systems
- Provide electrical engineering expertise to other stakeholders across the Business.
- Be point of escalation of complex issues
