Cloud Engineer - Azure, Microsoft - Senior

We are not an agency, we run a boutique Professional Consultancy service - we require the services of a 3rd party professional to assist us with an ongoing project.
We are expanding our team and require a Senior Microsoft Azure Cloud Engineerto work on-site at one of our key clients in Belfast City. This is a superb opportunity to work with a very good team on an initial 3 month contract but likely to extend for a year or more.
Key Experience
- Experience in deploying Azure technologies for large multi-national organisations.
- Experience in integrating on-premise Microsoft based infrastructure with Azure
- Experience in the Microsoft Cloud Security Stack specifically Azure Key Vault, Managed and Un-Managed Disks, Azure AD Advanced, Cloud App Security, Conditional Access and Azure MFA. Experience with Bring your own Key technologies beneficial.
- Experience in both VPN and Express route connectivity to multiple Azure regions.
- Experience in working in an ITIL orientated support organisation.
- It is desirable but not essential to have experience of Amazon Web Services.
- It is desirable but not essential to have experience of leveraging automated deployment tools as part of a development pipeline.

- Self-motivating, structured individual with the ability to identify and break down high level delivery deliverables to prioritised components.
- Builds good rapport with colleagues particularly with the Programme Manager and Technical Leads across the IT function.
- Has the confidence to raise issues to senior stakeholders particularly the Lead Architect and the Cloud Acceleration Steering group.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to work with technical subject matter experts as well as other project teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure, successfully prioritising work without compromising quality.
- Understanding of delivery best practices such as change management and architectural review board processes.
- Work outside normal office hours, including on-call, weekend, evening work, international travel will be expected, as required by individual projects and activities.
Role Purpose
The Senior Cloud Engineer' role will be dedicated to the Cloud Acceleration programme. Specifically, it will focus on the execution of the Microsoft Azure designs that theclient have created working with Microsoft and a third party organisation. The role will focus heavily on implementation of these designs and integration into the day to day operations of theclient's IT organisation. Therefore, individuals who have previously predominately focused on the design area of public cloud platforms rather than the actual implementation of cloud need not apply.
A large element of the role will be the distribution of knowledge concerning Microsoft Azure across the various IT teams that the platform engages with. An example of this helping IT Service Management staff understand how to master server deployment and the complexities of Azure networking.
Job description
Role and responsibilities
- To work with the allocated Project Manager to deploy theclients Microsoft Azure production design and production DMZ designs to the UK West and UK South Azure data centres in accordance with theclients project procedures to UK West and UK South Azure datacentres.
- To use previous experience in leveraging Microsoft Azure to contribute to the deployment and integration of the Azure environment.
- To help build up an Azure Resource Manager Template library to enable swift deployment.
- To understand the Subscription, Tagging, Resource Group and VNET design that has been formulated and help integrate these into the processes surrounding the ServiceNow central asset management system.
- To be able to draw on experience in deploying third party appliances to Azure environments specifically - Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Riverbed Steelhead, Citrix NetScaler
- To deliver implemented designs involving detailed knowledge of resilient cross Azure Data Centre technologies (specifically here between UK WEST and UK SOUTH)
