Electrical Design Engineer
Working for a global Electronic consumer company the chosen Electrical Design Engineer is needed for an initial 6 month contract.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide status reports on the progress of individual engineering activities
- Interpreting electronics design drawings for commercialisation
- Managing improvement projects for manufacturability, cost reduction, complexity reduction, component selection and obsolescence or consumer complaint reduction
- Ensuring electronics design and packaging meet requirements
- Develop test kit, where necessary, to interrogate onboard chips or measure outputs against a functionality Matrix
- Improving drawing standards and ensuring drawings supplied from design teams meet requirements for PCB Assembler implementation and quality inspection.
Essential Skills:
- Degree qualified in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience
- Single layer and multi layer PCB design experience
- Altium experience ideally
- Electronics test design
- Component selection in battery powered, consumer electronics
- RF comms design
- Electronics and battery encapsulation
- Component choice for manufacturability, operational performance and consumer safety
