Our Client, one of the world's foremost IT Consultancies, is looking to recruit a Contract Script Developer (Application Virtualisation Service) to join their client in Luxembourg.
Job Description:
- Application packages have to be developed and maintained:
- Gathering required information from the development teams, the product responsible person or the product vendor (installation prerequisites, how to install and customise …)
- Analysis of the application installation and configuration
- Development of the application package (App-V)
- Technical and integration testing on the supported platforms
- Move to a pre-production environment,
- Organization and follow-up of functional tests with key users and product management
- Develop specific procedures or tools to facilitate the installation, configuration and distribution of application packages (e.g. using PowerShell, VBscript or .NET).
- Prepare technical documentation of application packages, comprising user guides,documentation of procedures etc.
- MSI-based application packages must support the software distribution system used at theInstitution, currently the LANDesk Management Suite.
- Integration of application packages in the Reference Configurations that the client uses for desktops, laptops, hybrid devices, servers and terminal servers.
- System integration testing needs to be carried out with all operating system versions that are supported (Windows 7, 8.1 and -bit editions on workstations, Windows Server 2008 R2 and 2012 R2 64-bit edition on servers).
- Maintenance and support of the existing application packages, including problem diagnosis, resolution and reporting via the Central Helpdesk.
- Maintainance of the internal SharePoint-based planning and knowledgebase portal, as well as the internal repository of all relevant information for application packages (source code, documentation, specifications, documents, etc.).
Qualifications
Profile Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant studies in IT or related field after secondary school.
- Minimum 8 years of specific expertise in a similar role.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Application Virtualization (App-V) and related tools
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft installation technologies (MSI) and related tools (e.g.InstallShield)
- Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Windows operating systems family (Windows 7, Windows 8.x, Windows 10, Windows Server 2008 R2 and 2012 R2).
- Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office products family (Office 2010, 2013, 2016 and 365), of Internet Explorer (preferably version IE11), and of managing application parameters using policies (local policies, GPOs).
- Good knowledge of FireFox and Chrome browser configuration (roadmap, settings, security, corporate configurations)
- Good knowledge of common Microsoft scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell, VBscript) and programming languages (e.g. C++, C#, VB.NET, JavaScript, etc ...).
- Expertise in software production and management and in software documentation and reporting.
- Familiarity with software distribution tools (e.g. LANDesk).
- Knowledge of the SharePoint platform is considered an asset.
- Certification of ITIL for service delivery and service support is considered an asset
- Very good knowledge of written and spoken English. French will be considered an asset.
