Description
A government Department in Canberra is seeking the services of a Cognos Administrator - Data Modeller.
The services will include
- Solution technical oversight providing overall guidance, leadership, and solid execution of data architectures and data analysis related to project initiatives.
- Develop data management design artefacts in support of business processes and objectives.
- Develop and/or direct the creation of efficient, maintainable and cost/effective databases.
- Prepare and/or direct the participation in the creation of test plans and test criteria.
- Prepare and/or direct the creation and maintenance of data management documentation.
- Provide consulting support for IT and Business partners by researching, identifying and applying data management solutions to problems.
Mandatory Selection Criteria:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related field. Or relevant demonstrated experience.
- A minimum of 4-year relevant experience in a multi-platform environment, including, but not limited to application system administration/coordination, application development or database development.
- Strong understanding of MDM (Master Data Management)
- Experience with the following technologies:
- Various database platforms (ie Oracle, MS SQLServer, Sybase)
- Data management principles such as Metadata management, Data governance and Data quality
- Strong liaison and interpersonal skills including the ability to:
- Engage with requesting business areas and other project stakeholders
- Discuss technical matters with both technical and non-technical staff
- Negotiate outcomes between business and technical areas.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team in a Matrix management environment undertaking multiple projects and maintenance activities with potentially competing priorities
The client requires the candidate be an Australian Citizen and hold a valid Baseline clearance prior to commencement.
