Description

Cyber Security Consultant - Hands-on/Technical Lead skills. Top Financial organisation requires a Cyber Security, consultant who is very much hands-on/technical, especially in the areas of threat/vulnerability and be able to apply technical measures quicky and effectively to stop them.

The position is 70% Techncial (securing the company infrastructure through installing and maintaining various tooling whilst adhering to cyber security standards) and 30% Consultant (interfacing with department managers, handling expectations etc). The position requires you to be autonomous, and does not have any specific line management duties, apart from advising team members on best practice and the wider business on projects.

This role will ideally suit someone who has come from a technical background in the capacity such as a Security Engineer, networking technical lead, SOC Analyst, Pen tester or consultant, Networking with Cyber Security (networks, data encryption, DNS understanding, worked with lots of Tooling etc) and is comfortable working in a hybrid technical/consultancy capacity.

Candidates applying for the position should be able to demonstrate the following core skills & responsibilities experience:

Skills required:

  • Excellent/broad technical knowledge of Infrastructure & network operating systems
  • Scripting for API integration and BAU tasks
  • Broad techncial knowledge of Cyber issues & associated tech - Open source big data analysis (Elasticsearch, Kibana), EDR (Endpoint Detection & Response), Current threat groups/agents to financial industry, Cloud micro services security, DLP policies.
  • Network Architectures - Securing multiple LANs over VPN and remote appliances
  • Good knowledge of Cyber Security frameworks & how to enhance technical control areas
  • Wide experience of Tools and dealing with the technical policies of them.
  • Leading security initiatives, building/configuring new tools, cyber security best practice
  • Ensure the estate is secure by maintaining/employing defence 'in depth' measures.

This is an initial 3-6 month contract role, based in Cambridgeshire, easily commutable from surrounding counties, including London.
