Harris global are currently looking for an experienced Oracle DBA for our client in Brussels. Candidates need to be fluent in English and EU CITIZENS ONLY.
Tasks And Responsibilities
The services to be provided are at the level Experienced System Administrator with expertise in database administration and management.
The following tasks will be requested:
Specific DBA
- Ensure all database Servers are backed up in a way that meets the business's Recovery Point Objectives (RPO);
- Test backups to ensure we can meet the business Recovery Time Objectives (RTO);
- Troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekends;
- Configure SQL Server monitoring utilities to minimize false alarms;
- Monitor SQL Server clusters
- Develop new scripts to monitor Servers
- Install and configure new SQL Servers;
- Install new instances, create new databases and add them to AlwaysOn
- When performance issues arise, determine the most effective way to increase performance including hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query changes
- Migrate SSRS reports to PBIRS
- Create new reports/modify existing ones in SSRS/PBIRS
- Finding DMV queries to answer questions about server-level performance;
- Using different tools to diagnose server reliability and performance issues;
- Document the company's database environment;
- Patch Servers
Generic
- Perform daily, weekly and monthly operational tasks;
- Participate in the 2nd line support, Problem Management and on-call standby service;
- Debugging and analysing of reported problems and escalated incidents;
- Drafting operational guidelines, procedures, installation notices and scripts for the integration, installation and upgrade of aforementioned component services;
- Assistance with roll-out of new ICT infrastructure projects;
- Operate in accordance with the defined ITIL processes and procedures;
- Intervention on ICT infrastructure (Servers, backup devices, virtual machines, etc);
- Performing backup/restore operations on data;
- Development of scripts to improve central management and control facilities (central alerting, central logging, central security polices implementation ...).
Standard requirements
- Secondary school (12 years education) diploma/certificate of completion is required
- ITIL v.3 Foundation certification is a requirement of the contract and needs to be obtained, at the latest, 3 months after the start date.
- AT LEAST one technical certification (besides ITIL) in their area of expertise (ie related to the component they are proposed for)secondary school (12 years education) diploma/certificate of completion is required for Junior and Experienced, two are required for Senior

- (On-call) troubleshooting experience in a production SQL Server environment year, you are the person that the company calls if the SQL Server service stops working.

- Proven operational experience working in a corporate server environment running databases on both Windows Server 2012R2 or 2016 and Linux Redhat 6+;
- Basic Windows 2012R2/2016 Server administration;
- Good Shell Scripting skill (eg powershell, bash, sh, ksh);
- Microsoft Reporting Server administration and reporting developer skills;
Mandatory Certifications:
At least one of the following technical valid certification:
- Oracle Database 12c or 11g Administrator Certified Professional;
- Oracle Certified Expert, Oracle Real Application Clusters 11g and Grid Infrastructure Administrator;
- MCSA SQL Server
