Role: Senior Application Support Specialist (Linux, Red Hat, RedHat, RHEL, RHCSA, Perl, Bash, bsh, MQ, Manhattan, New York) within a team of 7 in Manhattan, New York. You will work on two third party, vendor applications for trading and trade surveillance. This will increase by a further three 3rd party applications in the next 12 months. The team is responsible for implementing new applications and their subsequent production support. As upgrades and changes are released, you and the rest of the team will coordinate proof of concept and subsequent change and release management.

The applications are largely running in a Red Hat environment that is automated and maintained with Perl and Shell Scripts. The environment is complex, involving IBM WebSphere MQ and Rabbit MQ. Knowledge of message queuing is therefore important. Experience in a financial environment is essential but you do not need trading experience. This will be a senior role in the team that will mentor more junior members, stand in for the manager and receive escalations for more senior issues.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience with trading applications and join a team in a growing organisation. There will be opportunities for training and promotion into senior and team lead positions. There is also the potential to move into sales and business analysis roles.
