Description

A government department in Canberra has a requirement for a SAP FICO Specialist with 2+ years of experience.

Primary duties will be:

  • support the design, development and implementation of SAP system rollouts, new functionalities/enhancements, and SAP modules integration by leveraging expertise in Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules.
  • define possible solutions, identify risks and issues, undertake configurations, and support the implementation of a range of financial system changes including:
  • a global banking and credit card solution - support the centralisation of payment and bank reconciliation processes; the automation of bank statements and bank reconciliation processes; the improvement of data cleansing and data maintenance related to vendors and banks; and the integration of the solution within existing financial systems for reporting and quality assurance purposes.
  • decommissioning of travel system - identify functions and access to be retained and configure them into other finance systems to ensure compliance to key financial processes, controls and reporting requirements.
  • replacement of travel system - evaluate travel solution options, and identify the configuration and integration steps required in its implementation.
  • security and provisioning improvements - review role access design, manage required configuration changes and check for compliance with security controls and financial processes.
  • other SAP enhancements - undertake analysis to support business process design, undertake technical and minor enhancements in SAP, and manage their configuration and implementation.
  • identify, prioritise and resolve complex support requests.
  • review solutions recommended by 3rd level support team and identify what can be actioned in house.
  • train junior staff members in SAP support analysis methods.
  • contribute to the development and maintenance of team procedures.
  • identify opportunities to improve work and system processes.
  • support management as required with additional activities as they arise.
  • support other tasks as required.

Selection Criteria:

Mandatory Selection Criteria:

The candidate must demonstrate that they have:

  • 2+ years of experience working with SAP FICO modules (Financial Accounting; and Controlling).
  • technical knowledge of the SAP system.
  • sound understanding of financial processes such as Bank Reconciliations, Payment Runs and End-of-Month processes.
  • experience with other SAP modules: Travel, Expense Management, Collections & Disbursements, Accounts Payable/Receivable.
  • experience in providing Level 1/Level 2 technical support for common SAP functions.
  • experience with Remedy, or similar service management/ticket logging software.

Highly Desirable:

  • experience with SAP Business Warehouse would be highly regarded.
  • knowledge of A-BAP and GRC would be highly regarded but not essential.

The client requires the candidate be an Australian Citizen and hold a valid NV1 clearance prior to commencement.
