UNIX/LINUX SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR (RHEL, SOLARIS, VXVM, VXFS, LVM, DR TESTS)BANKING IT INFRASTRUCTURE JOB
A respected international tier-1 banking client of mine are seeking a UNIX/Linux System Administrator for a job opportunity in Zürich.
This bank has always been at the forefront of technology advancements and development of banking applications, and they currently need a Unix/Linux System Administrator. As the Unix/Linux System Administrator in Zürich, you will be responsible for the following:
- Planning and execution of maintenance on UNIX/Linux systems, including deployment of new operating system releases and Layer 2 (Middleware) components.
- Support for integration of new systems and products, including support for projects through all environments from test to production.
- Installation, configuration and root cause analysis with storage management tools (VxVM, VxFS, LVM)
- Quality assurance and acceptance tests for UNIX/Linux systems, standard builds and software components
- Root cause analysis and implementation of sustainable solutions
- Support of Life Cycle projects
- Execute disaster recovery (DR) tests in cooperation with application support teams
- Create, revise and update technical documentation
- On-call support (7x24h) for Unix Operations team, support project managers for implementation of new application solutions, including technical support
- Quality management, operation level management
Some key skills you will need for this job are:
- Solid knowledge in Linux and Solaris administration in large environments
- Root cause analysis
- Solid analytical and strategic skills
- You are a self-starter, and a good team player
- Fluent English
