Description of Job & Key Responsibilities/Duties:

Opportunity to join a progressive IT department as it delivers the power of cloud productivity through implementation of Microsoft Office 365 and Skype for Business on Premise. This role will initially focus on management of an internal deployment of Skype for business servicing over 25,000 users with desires to move to an Office 365 instance.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a comprehensive experience in managing medium to large Skype for Business services (Video, Voice & Collaboration) and possess a strong understanding of Exchange, standard Client Server, networking, and Internet fundamentals. You will provide a full system life cycle service which includes planning, development, support and maintenance of Skype for Business, including attending to service requests and managing releases.

You will be part of a small and dynamic team, managing and providing support in various technologies and implementing services to create a competitive edge for our business. The role will also include mentoring and training existing team members.

Key Responsibilities

Propose and implement systems enhancements

Monitor usage and performance, and troubleshoot server, software, and hardware issues

Within specified architecture, define platform requirement sizing, network and controlling components, and system software.

Plan, evaluate, migrate, develop, implement, configure, test and roll out systems (hardware or software, networks, controls).

Analyse outages and defective states, initiating and monitoring measures to Remedy them. Implementing technical changes to increase service availability

Demonstrate a proactive approach to supporting the Skype for Business infrastructure but also able to react quickly and manage complex Skype enterprise voice & unified communication incidents effectively when required.

Ensure all production changes are made in accordance with production life cycle methodology and risk/change management guidelines

The SME will provide technical mentoring to other team members and actively participate in architecture reviews/strategic development activities

Defining and documenting all procedures around maintenance, governance and systems management

Leading Service Improvements, business adoption and drive value for IT and the business from the service

Skills & Qualifications Required for Job:

Experience from a similar support or development role in supporting business critical systems for a medium/large organisation - Essential

On Premise Skype For Business Deployment experience/exposure - Essential

Office 365: Skype For Business Deployment experience/exposure - Highly desirable

Exchange and Exchange On-line Experience - Highly Desirable

Good experience in enterprise scale UC systems (LYNC 2010, LYNC 2013, Skype for Business 2015) of greater than 20,000 seats

Strong understanding of end to end enterprise voice configuration including underlying voice sub systems

A proactive approach with the ability to prioritise own workload within demanding schedules

MCSE: Communications (or similar)
