Tasks to be performed:
- Manage the configuration of the platform: Arrays, Pools, Ranks, Logical Control Units, (LCUs), IO ports and Volume definitions.
- Dispatch LCUs over the different PR/SM partitions and provide the changes to perform into the z/OS configuration.
- Peer to Peer Remote Copy (PPRC) Administration.
- Generate via REXX procedures all necessary PPRC commands to manage the synchronous copy between Primary and Secondary devices.
- Perform the XRC customization including journals and control datasets definitions and tune from time to time XRC parameters.
- Adapt the REXX procedures when needed.
- Determine the need to define Virtual Record Specification (VRS) and perform the operation.
- Clean-up of DFRMM.
- Monitor and react upon monitoring of Storage Management System (SMS) and
- Hierarchical Storage Management (HSM), including space management, incremental backups and dump cycles, to prevent outages and performance deterioration.
- Maintain SMS shared Access Control System (ACS) routines, management and data classes.
- Maintain system parameter libraries.
- DFRMM housekeeping.
- System volume and catalogue backup management.
