Description

Synergis is looking for an experienced Embedded Quality Assurance Engineer (SQA) to work a 6 month contract in Alpharetta, GA for our client. You will be responsible for delivering excellent firmware products to an international audience! This is a challenging and exciting position where you will conduct testing activities on firmware development projects. Responsibilities include the development and execution of test scripts and cases, the design and implementation of test environments, and the identification and management of issues for each development project. A solid understanding of networking and information systems firmware QA is needed. Some travel to different locations may be required.

Embedded Quality Assurance Engineer (SQA) Responsibilities:

Develop test plans, tests cases, and automated test scripts.

Design and coordinate the implementation of test environments.

Develop test data, execute test plans, cases, and scripts.

Design and implement test environments

Identify and manage issues for each development project.

Document test results and provide QA test progress reports as appropriate.

Collaborate with firmware engineers in developing test cases for Unit and System Tests.

Manage user tests and coordinate with the Project team to take appropriate actions required to correct software defects.

Review user stories and work with business partners to refine the requirements such that they can be objectively tested.

Coordinate with engineering and development to establish a well-constructed testing environment.

Work closely with developers to ensure all aspects of the product are tested.

Represent Company in a positive, professional manner when working with both external and internal customers.

Adhere to Company's Code of Conduct and Ethics Policy.

Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Aid in creating and maintaining dashboards and webpages by providing metrics and other data relevant to current project status

Embedded Quality Assurance Engineer (SQA) Required Education, Experience and Skills:

5-7 years of experience in an Embedded Firmware Quality Assurance capacity.

Thorough knowledge of Embedded Firmware Quality Assurance processes.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

A solid understanding of networking and information systems firmware QA is needed.

Knowledge of each phase of the Software Development Lifecycle.

Highly responsive to the problems of internal and external customers

Familiarity with the Agile Scrum development model

Familiarity of Microsoft development and testing environment, including tools such as Test Manager and Team Foundation Server (TFS).

Experience with SQL Databases

Experience with web services testing

Able to convey information concisely and clearly to all levels of the organization.

Able to communicate with users in non-technical terms both verbally and in writing.

Able to work with minimal supervision and to work on several active projects simultaneously.

Embedded Quality Assurance Engineer (SQA) Desired Experience and Skills

Experience testing networked devices.

Experience with Automated Test Tools.

Experience with Power Line Carrier (PLC) technologies.

Experience with Python, .Net, C#

Membership in a quality-related organization (eg SQA, QAI)

Software/firmware testing-related certifications; Certified Software/firmware Quality Analyst (CSQA), Certified Software/firmware Tester (CSTE), Certified Software/firmware Project Manager (CSPM), Certified Software/firmware Test Professional (CSTP), Certified Test Manager (CTM), or similar.
