Description

System Design/Architect (m/f)

Reference: -en
Start: 01/19
Duration: 6 MM++

Main tasks:
  • Developing efficient architecture/micro-architecture of ASIC/SoC designs
  • Collaborate/coordinate with the marketing, applications, design and firmware teams to come up with the basic design requirements
  • Define/architect the overall SoC topology, hardware/firmware partitioning, interfaces and sub-blocks required
  • Drive/understand the car access environment and tools
  • Writing out detailed architecture/micro-architecture design objective specifications, product briefs and summary documents
  • Participate in SoC modeling to avoid expensive silicon respins, participate in IP evaluation and feature discussions
  • Coordinating micro-architecture documentation and IP definition to support SoC pipelines
  • Understand RTL, MATLAB models, C-/C++-designs, validation infrastructure and guide validation activities in the lab to confirm that architectural objectives are met on silicon
  • Interface with the project team (analogue/digital design, firmware, applications, test, project management), customer (mainly Europe, but also the U.S. and Asia) and handling customer issues and solve problems

Main qualifications
  • Master of Science degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering
  • Profound knowledge of working with SoC skills (IC design, applications and/or system design) and background with industry experience
  • Valid experience with network SoC skills and/or system know-how (RF or wired, RF preferred) and experience in working on sub-GHz, ultra-wide band and/or Bluetooth Low Energy is beneficial
  • English/German language skills
  • Strong understanding of microcontroller/microprocessor architectures/designs
  • Knowledge of SoC system bus architecture, performance implications, common communication protocols (e.g. UART, I2C) and general micro-architecture concepts
  • Experience with requirements analysis/management
  • Ability to create hardware and firmware partitioning
  • Knowledge of detailed design feasibility (e.g. size/current consumption estimation)
  • Analogue or digital design background

Main advantages:
  • A highly motivated team and an open way of communication
  • Good infrastructure
