Splunk Expert - Brussels, Belgium

Languages: ENGLISH with FRENCH and/or DUTCH.

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor/Masters or equivalent by experience in IT.
  • Knowledge of ITIL based operational processes.
  • Splunk Certified Admin.
  • 1-3 years of experience in information security (specialisation in security monitoring, detection).
  • 2 -3 years of experience in SPLUNK.
  • Solid and proven experience with the following technologies:
    • Splunk Deployment Server.
    • Splunk administration through UI including app, report, and dashboard permissions, users and roles, deployment server, managing alerts, summary searches, and report accelerations.
    • Splunk development of critical data-related configuration files like props.conf, inputs.conf, transforms.conf, and indexes.conf.
    • Splunk development of dashboards, reports, and alerts.
  • Experience utilising best practices for getting data into Splunk.

Description of work:

  • Assistance in the development & management of Use Case and Content.
  • Define and execute life cycle management of the deployed solutions, qualifying new releases and patches and planning/documenting upgrades, new systems, as well as maintaining current operational event flows.
  • Provide optimisation of connector interfaces, aggregation, and data normalisation.
  • Availability Management: realise availability requirements, compile availability plans, monitor availability, and monitor maintenance obligations;
  • Capacity Management: manage system capacity, and component (or tactical) capacity.
  • Change Management: ensure that standardised methods and procedures are used for efficient handling of all changes.
  • Asset & Configuration Management: manage and trace every aspect of a configuration (CIs) from beginning to end.
  • Release Management: ensure the availability of licensed, tested, and version-certified software and hardware.
  • Incident Management: The primary objectives are to prevent Incidents from happening, and to minimise the impact of incidents that cannot be prevented.
