Construction Interface Engineer (CIE)
North and South

Pontoon has just received 2 excellent opportunities to join one of the UK's leading Utility clients based in either the North or South as a Construction Interface Engineer (CIE) on a long term basis.
Construction Interface Engineers are required to support the Project Engineer with site execution to ensure all site activities are safely, effectively & efficiently delivered in accordance with the Works Information.
Experience Required:
- Construction project experience in high pressure gas transmission/distribution assets, ie pipelines, offtakes and above-ground installations.
- Construction experience in the gas/oil/utility sector including civil, mechanical & electrical disciplines
- Detailed understanding of appropriate legislative requirement
Key Tasks:
- Understanding site work programmes, timescales & interdependences ie design, materials, plant, equipment, subcontractors.
- Proactively monitoring contractor progress to identify issues early.
- Facilitate excellent co-ordination between all parties to ensure right outcome.
- Develop strong collaborative relationships between PC & Occupiers Reps (ie Persons accountable for 'Safety from the System' and Commissioning Engineer) ensuring there is adequate support provided.
- Enact the role of Engineers Representative or Project Supervisor.
- Familiar with Forms of Contract ie NEC3 ECC, etc.
- Review PC site quality plan, ensure adequacy of hold and witness point, and relevance of supporting documentation ie drawings, installation manuals etc
- Implement QMS and carry out sensible monitoring & reporting
- Ensure compliance with Tech Specs, Policies & Procedures, Guidance Notes, Handbooks
- Ensure robust drawing/documentation management system established & maintained ie recording, filing, marking up, transmittals, handover
- Support quality handover of construction drawings from Site Manager to the Commissioning team
- Observe that the PC Site Representative is pro-active in discharging their duties under the CDM regulations
- Monitor suitability of, and compliance with, the PC Construction Phase SHES Plan
- Sensible monitoring of site construction activities to confirm effective PC Safety Management System is in place.
- Sensible monitoring via risk based approach to quality check RAMS
