Description

The ideal candidate will have experience working on global programmes and will have knowledge and understanding of information risk concepts and security controls in relation to business needs.

Key requirements:

Scheduling and implementing device upgrades from R77.10 -R77.30 to R80.

Converting Firewall policy and configurations from R77.10 -R77.30 to R80..

Addressing and resolving incidents for reported or observed problems related to the upgrades..

Monitoring systems for operational faults or issues, performance, or functionality issues.

Taking prescribed actions to address and escalate as necessary.

Ensuring systems are added to monitoring platforms

Participate in new system deployments as necessary and other global security projects.

Consider means to make the running systems more efficient to operate or for them to perform their functions..

Maintain procedural and operational documentation and help create new documents as needed

Ensure all appropriate monitoring of systems is in place to assess availability, efficiency, and impending signs of issues.

Ensure alerting is occurring as appropriate

Continuous improvement - Analyze, document and recommend new technologies to improve efficiencies working with architecture teams to ensure effective solution selections.

Ensure effective and efficient request handling and escalation policies and procedures are being utilized..

Ensure participation in the development of Disaster Recovery plans and test executions.

Ensure total commitment to the Global Change Management process to safeguard stability and reliability.

Skills required:

  • Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience administering, troubleshooting and maintaining Checkpoint Firewalls and management platforms.
  • Experience of large scale Firewall upgrades/Migrations in a clustered environment
  • Experience in Checkpoint versions R77.10 -R77.3 and R80.
  • Multi-Domain environments
  • Knowledge of PowerShell Scripting
  • General knowledge of other security platforms such as Web Proxy and IPS
  • Basic understanding of data flow technologies such as routing, NAT, ARP and associated command line tools such as tcpdump.
  • Knowledge and understanding of information risk concepts and principles, as a means of relating business needs to security controls.
  • Awareness of mainstream operating systems
  • Experience working in a virtual team, with ability to have a positive and impacting influence on activities from a distance.
  • Experience working in a Global team-oriented collaborative environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-Motivated and proactive.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL
