Description
Engineering Quality Manager required undertaking the following responsibilities:
- Deputise for Reliability Growth Trials Chief Engineer when required
- Focus on RGT process for Root Cause Analysis (RCA) incident investigation during reliability growth trials on the programme
- Work with the Reliability team to mature the DRACAS and RCA process
- Interface with Quality Assurance and Key Supply Chain Managers
- Initiate the Supplier Corrective Action Report (SCAR) process for supplier incidents witnessed .
- Visit suppliers to support RCA and SCAR responses
- Conduct vehicle Physical Configuration Audits (PCA) post upgrade of RGT vehicles
- Support Functional Configuration Audits (FCA) post upgrade of RGT vehicles
- Conduct regular audits during RGT to confirm that the correct process is being followed and documentation is up to date (ie Vehicle Logbook) - Close loop.
- Support the Chief Engineer with root cause analysis the Chief Engineer with preparation for and attendance at internal Incident Review Boards (IRB)
- Support the Chief Engineer with preparation for and attendance at formal Incident Sentencing Committees (ISC)
- Support the RGT Planning Manager with preparation of the RGT Plans
Typical activities will include:
- Be the QA lead, on site throughout the RGT programme
- Be the independent governance of the RGT and DRACAS process
- Lead PCA and support FCA post vehicle upgrade for RGT
- Conduct independent audits of the RGT process and initiate continuous improvements
- Interface with the suppliers to support the SCAR process
- Attend daily and weekly internal IRB
- Work with the vehicle Chief Engineers, Functional Leads and suppliers to prepare for and attend formal ISC with Customer and external stakeholders
- Support the Reliability Working Groups (quarterly review)
- Support the RGT Planning Manager to update and maintain the reliability plans
- Preparation of material for internal and external review and presentation
- Effectively communicate updates to the RGT Chief Engineer
The successful candidate will have the below skills/experience:
- A proven track record of Quality Assurance techniques for complex system integration, test and acceptance programmes
- A proven track record of Supplier Quality Assurance and Supplier Audits
- Experience of engineering platform designs against performance and reliability targets
- Experience of vehicle systems
- Ability to liaise with, and present information to, multi-disciplined and multi-national team members
- Excellent presentation, verbal and written skills
- Willing to travel extensively within UK and Europe
- Good team working abilities
- Ability to communicate at senior levels
