EDS Quality Advisor - Hinckley - £400 - £425 Per Day - 12 Months

EDS Quality Advisor required undertaking a lead role supporting the construction delivery team in the effective implementation, coordination, execution and monitoring of Manufacturing Assurance and Quality Assurance activities, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, business policies, procedures, specifications and the wider EDS Quality Management System (QMS) and Construction Quality Management Plan (CQMP)

Purpose

Undertake a lead role supporting the construction delivery teams in the effective implementation, coordination, execution and monitoring of Manufacturing Assurance and Quality Assurance activities, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, Business policies, procedures, specifications and the wider EDS Quality Management System (QMS) and Construction Quality Management Plan (CQMP)

Experience

- Demonstrable knowledge of the development and implementation of robust Quality and Business Management Systems and associated documentation.

- Experience in the effective implementation of Quality Management Plans and the interpretation of intervention levels, witness and hold points.

- Experience of managing quality in contruction is required, ideally in Gas Distribtution, with knowledge of industry standards.

- Experience working wihtin NEC3 forms of contract is desirable

- Site based experience required

Qualifications

- Essential

- Educated to at least HNC/HND level or equivalent in an engineering discipline

- Ideally supported by recognised training or qualifications on the Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Management

- Membership of relevant professional body such as IET/IMechE/IGEM

Qualities

- Excellent leadership, influencing, customer orientation and communication skills, providing the ability to support and communicate effectively with staff at all levels

Technical

- Demonstrate detailed technical knowledge and experience of quality assurance and integrity requirements in planning/design/delivery of modifications on high pressure gas assets, including pipelines and above-ground installations

- Detailed understanding of Quality Management Systems including the principles of PAS 55 and ISO9001 and internal/external audit process

- Good Project Management skills including management of risk for delivery of projects to scope, time, cost, quality, safety and security of supply

- Detailed understanding of appropriate legislative requirements, company policies and procedures

- Excellent leadership, influencing, customer orientation and communication skills, providing the ability to support and communicate effectively with staff at all levels

- Proficient understanding and experience of Safety and Environmental legislation and practices and policies

- Working knowledge of CDM Regulations

- Valid current UK Driving Licence

Main interfaces

- EDS Project Controls/Planning - In collaboration with Project Engineer, ensuring timely planning of Manufacturing Assurance activities in line with project delivery timescales

- EDS Project teams - providing advice and guidance for the successful implementation of the QMS and CQMP and ensuring appropriate levels of Manufacturing Assurance

- Professional Services Framework Contract providers - building and maintaining robust and effective working relationships and ensuring satisfactory delivery of Professional Services activities

- Construction Delivery Contractors - Ensuring compliance with EDS QMS and CQMP as well as agreed project specific site quality management plans. Also progressing timely rectification of notified defects.

- Operations - Operation and Maintenance, key customer and stakeholder for scope, expert user knowledge for design review, safe control of operations, supporting project management, commissioning and handover of completed projects

- Network Strategy - Policy Team - derogations and deviations from policy, technical support

- Construction and Procurement - Procurement and Supplier Contracts Teams - Operations - to efficiently manage agreed level of support,

- Assurance and Business Planning & Project Controls - to deliver agreed and appropriate levels of assurance and quality

Key tasks

- Ensuring EDS projects are delivered in accordance with G17, RE3 and published Quality Management Systems

- Develop and maintain EDS Quality Management System in accordance with the principles of PAS 55 and ISO9001.

- QA/QC input into contract documentation and tender evaluation

- Provide support to the implementation and continuous improvement of the Engineering Delivery Services (EDS) QMS and CQMP.

- Provide advice and guidance to the Lead Project Managers and Project Engineers to ensure the effective implementation and monitoring of EDS' QMS and CQMP, including Project and Site Quality Plans, witness and hold points

- To develop and implement the audit regime for measuring compliance against the QMS and CQMP, including Project and Site Quality Plans, witness and hold points.

- Provide quality assurance support to the Construction Delivery Teams

- Undertake lead role in the project specific Manufacturing Assurance (MA) Strategy Team Meeting to identify appropriate MA intervention level assessments of the equipment and materials identified in the contractor/supplier design solution for the regions projects.

- Ensure timely planning and execution of Manufacturing Assurance activities in line with project delivery timescales for EDS projects

- Plan and undertake site installation QA Audits for projects, ensuring all actions are closed within accepted timescales.

- Provide input into the development, review and implementation of business policies, procedures and specifications as required and promote best practice and lessons learned

- Support and enhance the development and promotion of a positive Quality Culture across EDS and Operate & Maintain

- To provide support to the Lead Project Managers and Project Engineers in monitoring and progressing the timely close out of notified defects.

- Provide all appropriate management information to the SPM and Assurance Manager as required, to clearly identify the status of project quality performance.
