The Senior Geospatial IM Specialist is responsible for furthering the technical capabilities of the Geospatial Operations and Pipeline Environment including implementation and integration with PODS data and applications. The position responsibilities include the design, development, configuration, and implementation of technical geospatial solutions. Major responsibilities include managing data, creating cartographic output in both digital and paper forms, developing scripts for management and monitoring of GIS data, automating repetitive work with FME or python, evaluating opportunities to enhance or optimize geospatial technical workflows, troubleshoot performance problems on existing infrastructure, manage SDE database activities, and support business users with advanced technical requests. Additional responsibilities include assistance and advisement to the GIS Support Team and deploying maps, apps and dashboards via the Portal environment. This position requires strong coordination and cooperation with remote GIS technical resources scattered between different regions.
Job Duties:
- Coordinate with various regions on GIS technical activities
- Configure geospatial applications and support existing and newly developed applications in Portal & Web AppBuilder
- Manage PLOS/PODS applications and data
- Maintain and create Portal, ArcGIS Server, and SDE level Python scripts
- Manage Geospatial Portal content and presentation
- Create, manage and maintain complex FME jobs and workflows
- Review and implement standards for GIS data, workflows and apps for region
- Work with the GIS Support and Pipeline teams to assist in troubleshooting complex issues relating to Data, Server and Portal environments
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- ArcGIS for Server minimum version 10.5
- Portal for ArcGIS minimum version 10.5
- ArcMap/ArcCatalog minimum version 10.5
- ArcGIS Pro minimum version 2.0
- Pipeline Open Data Standard (PODS) data model experience
- Pipeline Office Studio (or equivalent) awareness
- ArcSDE/Geospatial Data maintenance techniques
- Microsoft Power BI
- FME Workbench/FME Server
- Python Scripting (PortalPy and ArcPy)
- Strong understanding of problem solving techniques
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to both technical and non-technical resources
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in Geographic Science, GIS, Geoscience, computer science, or a related field.
- Experience with enterprise level geospatial data management
- 8+ years of experience working with ESRI tools and applications
- 4+ years of experience with FME Desktop
- Education and experience may be substituted for one another
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters level with major coursework in Geographic Science, GIS, Geoscience, computer science, or a related field.
- 10+ years of direct experience working with ESRI GIS Tools and applications
- 3+ years of direct experience with Pipeline Open Data Standard (PODS) data model
- 6+ years working with FME and or Python
