Our client DSTL//Programme & Delivery//Operations//Land Battlespace Systems (DSTL PD Ops LBS) are seeking a SC cleared Senior Electronics engineer for a 12 month+ Contract based in Fort Halstead, Kent

Essentials and Desirable
Experience in a range of RF test equipment
2. Evidence of working knowledge of communication protocols
3. Matlab or other programming experience
4. Previous Land ECM S&T experience
5. Signal processing skills
6. Understanding of SDR architectures

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Within this dynamic and exciting role, you will apply your skills and problem solving abilities to a
wide range of technical challenges including bespoke system analysis using Radio Frequency (RF)
test equipment, the analysis and verification of software defined systems and subcomponents and
activities associated complex RF network configurations and 'smart' systems. The role is
predominantly laboratory based but some field trail work will also exist as and when the need
arises.

Skills and Experience Required
Skilled in a wide variety of laboratory RF test equipment including Vector Signal Generators,
Signal/Spectrum Analysers, Vector Network Analysers, Oscilloscopes and Function Generators
A knowledge of the workings of communication protocols in network and point to point
technologies
Programming would feature - ideally Matlab
Signal processing skills - understand trade-offs and sensitivity analysis of waveform design
Desirable - Understanding SDR architectures

Description:

Dstl are an executive agency within the U.K Ministry of Defence (MOD) and provide a wide range of in-house expertise and technical services to U.K armed forces. Technical assurance is a crucial series of activities that are used to verify and validate complex military capabilities which U.K armed forces rely upon. As system complexities continue to increase, this area is seeing significant growth in terms of both the depth and breadth of the activities required.
