Description
Due to the continued expansion and growth in Mobile Core LTE & future 5G consumer and enterprise Network services we are looking for an experience Network Transport designer to join an already established team. You will be involved in single Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) transport networks, which is primarily Application Engineered Routing (AER) transport optionally co-existing with traditional MPLS technology.
Core competencies should include.
- Background in Telecommunications Core Networks
- Strong understanding of MPLS/IP from an IGP perspective
- BGP, L2 Layering
- Proven IP network design experience (min 3 - 5 years) preferably within Data centre/hosting environment and ideally in Smart Metering or Machine-to-Machine technologies
- A strong understanding of IP and other adherent Protocols
- Hands on experience with networking technologies (LAN routing and switching with an emphasis on Cisco)
- Experience of designing with load balancers (preferably F5) and Firewalls (preferably Fortinet)
- Solutions Design, architectural, Systems & HLD
- Understanding of Telecommunications Transmission Systems
- Experience in working with major UK network service providers
- In depth understanding of Network resource platforms; DNS; Radius; Cisco ACS
- Experience in designing secure network solutions; Encryption/Certificates; access control and VPNs
- Good Working knowledge of UNIX variants, specifically Linux
- Professional Documentation and Communication skills required for presenting highly technical concepts succinctly to a wide audience
- In depth understanding of Directory and Database systems and protocols
- An enquiring mind, with attention to detail
- Able to function in a fast changing and demanding environment
