Materials & Process Engineer: You will join a well respected defence company to select the best combination of materials for aircrafts; test those materials to assess how resistant they are to heat, corrosion or chemical attack; Analyse data using computer modelling software; Assess materials for specific qualities (such as electrical conductivity, durability, renewability). Develop prototypes.
Essential Experience
This role requires very good electronic assembly skills. IE soldering, PCB, etc as stated belowc. The materials element will be taught but most important is electronic assembly.
- Materials and processes knowledge in relevant fields such as: electronics technology, soldering and SMT, micro-joining techniques, printed circuit boards ( PCB ), metallurgy, paints, coatings and adhesives.
- Good working knowledge of failure analysis techniques.
- Good interpersonal skills, communication and presentation capability.
- Facilitation skills for leading problem solving and risk analysis.
