The type of work you could be involved with may related to things such as Global aviation routes and flight safety, public weather and commercial forecasting services, emergency/disaster response including pollution and disease dispersion, climate change decision making, etc.
The role will involve:
Providing accurate and timely, high-impact forecasts and advice to a diverse range of customers
Delivering excellent customer service.
Provide observing and forecasting capability to support customer operations.
Analysing and enhancing weather stories, providing forecast guidance, advice and briefings tailored to customer requirements.
Identify continuous improvements to enable customers to operate in the most safe and cost-effective manner.
Provide innovative insights
You will need the following to be considered for the role:
A BipM in Meteorology or NVQ/RCF in Weather Forecasting or equivalent.
Ideally 2 years practical experience in Weather Forecasting in one of the following sectors; Aviation, Marine, Road or Commercial Services. But if candidates have accreditation for being a qualified weather forecaster the client would consider less
Demonstrable customer focus and interpersonal skills
Proven evidence of communicating technically complex meteorological information to a range of audiences.
Ability to work as part of a team.
