Sanctions Officer - Compliance/Insurance
Sanctions Compliance Officer to provide sanctions reviews and analysis for the Sanctions Clearing Team and the Risk & Compliance function. We require an experienced sanctions officer with a background in insurance.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Sanctions team and Director of Risk and Compliance in respect of reviewing and providing decisions on the more complex sanctions referrals which originate through the automated sanctions screening process or through ad hoc queries.
- Analyse complex transactions to be processed for the London insurance market from an OFAC and EU/UK sanctions perspective and provide robust decisions whether transactions can be cleared.
- Attend internal and external meetings, as required, including sanctions working group meetings with compliance officers operating in the London insurance market.
- Assist the Director of Risk and Compliance with the day to day identification and management of sanctions related risks and the creation and implementation of applicable controls.
Experience:
- Experience of working within Insurance industry and Lloyds of London markets.
- Significant experience of sanctions related work and providing sanctions advice.
- An understanding of the legal and regulatory framework relating to sanctions, specifically the escalations of sanctions reviews.
