FPGA Design Engineer

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for Design Engineers, to join a fast paced team, in Cheltenham for an initial 12 month project.
You will be working independently for one of the largest world-leading provider of commercial, military and business and general aviation.
This will be a great opportunity to put your skills and knowledge to the test!
Key Activities:
- Develop Graphics-Video mixer design based on existing Future Flight Deck work
- Develop a graphics frame store for use with a software renderer
- Implement graphics integrity monitor function, developed on FFD and adapt or OFD requirements
- Develop a hardware cursor for overlay on a video stream
- Support development of video Rx/Tx, switching, synchronising, scaling and compression
Essential Responsibilities:
- HD Graphics input (via DisplayPort or DVI)
- SD Video input (via ARINC-818 video interface
- Implement PCle interface to host processor
- Implement frame store to compose graphics frames
- Implement mixer functions as above
- Implement graphics integrity monitor function, developed on FFD and adapt or OFD requirements
- Develop a hardware cursor for overlay on a video stream
- Support development of video Rx/Tx, switching, synchronising, scaling and compression
Qualifications:
VHDL Video design and development
Desired:
- Knowledge of Xilinx FPGA's, particularly Virtex7 and Kintex7 and Associated IDE
- Knowledge of Implementation of SERDES, ARINC-818, PCLe in FPGA
