Role Purpose
To safely and successfully deliver fully tested integrated baggage systems required under my clients Framework Contract.
To ensure that the Client's expectations are achieved with respect to the provision of baggage systems work scope as required by contract.
To work collaboratively with the Client, its Consultants, other Delivery Integrators and clients suppliers to support the Delivery & Technical Services teams in their efforts to successfully, safely and profitably deliver the Client's requirements and expectations.
To manage, coordinate, programme and integrate the multiple parties required to execute end to end data and baggage tests for all interfaces used.
To streamline & optimise the test activities for the Framework Contract.

Accountabilities
- To ensure safe, timely completion of the Baggage Integration Testing within the Framework Contract.
- To direct and manage the Test and Commissioning Managers in the execution of their responsibilities.
- To deputise for the Head of Technical role
- To work collaboratively with the wider Baggage community in the identification of innovative test strategies that would optimise the programme and exceed the Client's requirements and expectations.
- To support the efforts of all members of the baggage team to deliver promptly, and efficiently, baggage handling systems.
- To openly and collaboratively communicate and meet with the Client to achieve statutory and contractual obligations for Baggage.
- To regularly engage with the Client and its Consultants to define the extent of testing within clients scope, obtain approved Milestone Definition Sheets for all third party dependencies and all interfaces and to determine the most efficient means of delivery in both the pre-production and production environments.
- To manage the creation of monthly reports, open issues lists, trend diagrams etc as may be required by the client, the contract or Works Requirements to record and report on the testing execution and performance of the project(s).
- To plan ahead for the efficient, profitable delivery of the required testing.
- Establish an effective process for testing issues and defect rectification and periodically author the overall Test and Validation Strategy and Plan
- Specify comprehensive regression tests required for changes made post deployment to the production environment
- Responsible for booking the required space, hardware, support, TIS, services, and environments to execute all the required tests in the ITF and ensuring that the required personnel report at the appropriate time
- Responsible for coordinating the required test bags, labels, labour, transport, security teams, permits, and team to run the SAT and ISAT tests in the production (live) environment without any unplanned operational impact.
- Responsible for the Reliability and Confidence documentation, management of the LOP/CCM list and BIU certification.
Personal Qualities and Experience
- Minimum 15 years experience as part of a delivery team of multiple, complex, mission critical projects, with values up to 100M GBP in a managerial or supervisory role. Minimum of 10 years airport baggage handling system interface testing.

The following qualities/experiences are essential:-
- Relevant experience with the responsibility for the execution of multiple system interface tests through the V-life cycle: FAT, IFAT, SAT, ISAT and UAT
- Leadership skills including planning, delegation, holding suppliers and appropriate others accountable, problem resolution at all levels, demonstrable teamwork and motivation to succeed
- Prepared and experienced to work in a high pressure time-sensitive work environment.
- Previous experience of Integration Testing of SAC, SCADA and communication interfaces to Enterprise Service Bus.
- Track record of organising and executing 1,000 plus bag end-to-end tests in a live BHS
- Detailed knowledge and experience of Airport Operational Applications: SITA MDS, BRS, DCS, FIDS, CCTV
- Experienced in the use of Automated Test Tools
