Senior Network Engineer - Central Melbourne - 6 month contract initially - Market rates
My client a global business consulting firm based in central Melbourne are looking for a Cisco certified (CCIE or CCNP) Senior Network Engineer to join the IT Operation Team. Working closely with colleagues in the UK, US and APAC regions candidates will be involved in leading and delivering a wide range of network related projects and support activities.
Candidates MUST have at least 7 years experience in the design and operation of an enterprise networking environment. 5+ years experience with Cisco Routers, Switches and Firewalls.
Core technology responsibilities:
- Cisco Networking solutions and related concepts
- Routing, Switching, Wireless and Voice technologies
- Network Security
- Networking Architecture and concepts
- Project Management
CRITICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of routing protocols such as BGP in a multi-home ISP environment, OSPF, and EIGRP.

Thorough understanding of DNS.

Experience with Cisco VOIP Solutions (CUCM, CUCME, UNITY, H323, SIP, MGCP)
- Experience and understanding of QOS and VOIP solutions throughout an enterprise environment.

Experience and understanding of Solarwinds Orion and other monitoring tools
- Prior experience of Service Now

Understands and applied policies and procedures.

Understands and applies ITILv3 policies and procedures.

Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with senior business management and peers.

Strong business and technical process design and documentation skills.
