Description

Purpose of role:

The role's main purpose is to:

  • Provide support to physical and functional system integration activities in Rosyth
  • Provide advice on the electrical safety of MS equipment and installations.
  • To ensure that the Mission System Integration on the platform is in accordance with the agreed design rules and current safety legislation.

The role is Rosyth-based, however the candidate may be required to travel to other Aircraft Carrier Alliance and supplier sites on an occasional basis.

Major Tasks and Activities:

  • The MS Integration Engineer contribute to the planning, conduct and recording of the MS Ship Integration activities, working with other members of the integration team, suppliers and client teams.
  • Integration of the Mission System 'system of systems' on the QEC platforms.
  • Conduct low level interface testing to ensure to ensure continuity of signal path on system interface cables.
  • Conduct fault finding and diagnostics on system interfaces
  • Running of informal and formal system level test sessions, demonstrating the requirements associated with the various individual subsystems and ensuring that they operate within the context of the wider Mission System capability.
  • Carry out data recordings to support gathering of integration evidence.
  • Compilation and presentation of acceptance evidence.
  • Production of trials reports.

Key Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of Combat Systems and their component systems used in the maritime environment.
  • First-rate engineering and technical report writing skills.
  • Knowledge of interface specifications and management.
  • Experience of system integration and trials.
  • Experienced in the use of integration toolsets.

Key Leadership/People Management Skills:

  • Strong commitment, self-motivation and possesses a "can do" attitude.
  • Ability to constructively challenge.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across Engineering and the wider business.

  • Firm in terms of preventing technical requirements creep.

You will need to be SC cleared, as well as eligible for direct and indirect access to ITAR material.
