Wintel Level 3 Administrator

Responsibilities:

Adhering to SLAs
- Mentoring/Training Team Members
- Handling tickets/requests
- Perform root cause analysis
- Troubleshooting technical issues
- Defining processes and ensuring that the processes are adhered to
- Oversees and is responsible for successful completion of Installation, configuration and migration
- Ensure maximum uptime according to the SLA
- Understanding of Multi-geo support environment
- Responsible for building/maintaining a test environment
- Improves and maintains customer and employee satisfaction
- Suggests new technologies and design changes
- Monitoring and maintaining SLA requirements by the team members
- Planning Backup/Restoration Strategy for 24x7 operation support
- Suggesting patches/upgrades to maintain security level
- Testing/Auditing/processes as required from time to time
- Identify Skill gaps and plan for training/knowledge updating

Technical Requirements
Proficient in Microsoft OS
In-Depth knowledge of Active Directory and DNS structure
Strong Knowledge of Windows Server and troubleshooting skills;
Strong in File and Print Server Management;
Knowledge in Windows Security;
Experienced in Antivirus products
Ability to implement AD infrastructure
Proficient in doing Recovery of AD Domain Controllers, DNS, WINS, DHCP Servers
In-Depth knowledge of DHCP Servers designing and planning
Should have good working experience on RAID management and Array controller.
Should have good knowledge & troubleshooting skills on MS Clusters, Windows Load Balancing
Should have expertise in backup products
Expertise in protocol suite and command line utilities
Should have worked with OEM hardware (DELL/HP/IBM), & remote connectivity tools
Should have worked with more than one patching (WSUS & SMS) & antivirus tools
Knowledge of Windows Registry, including knowledge of modifying system Registry to support installed applications and document configuration
Good working experience on monitoring tools
Good experience on installation, configuration and managing VM Ware environment.
Good Proficiency in System Fault Tolerance Design, Business continuity and Disaster recovery planning Capacity planning and Fine tune system for optimal performance
In-depth knowledge on working of ESX Server & vCenter Server [formally Virtual Center]
Document best practices in developing and deploying VMware solutions, and feed them into our knowledge base for reuse by customers and partners
Understanding of computer server architectures, including peripheral interfaces (SCSI, RAID, Ethernet) and multi-processor designs (SMP)
Knowledge on VMware Datacenter and Management Products like vSphere, vCenter Converter, Lab Manager, Chargeback, Capacity IQ etc is must.
Strong practical Linux systems administration skills would be added advantage

Hardware:
Hands on Servers (HP/DELL/HP/IBM)

Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and conversation skills (Verbal and Written)
- Good documentation skills
- Should have a excellent customer handling skills
- Able to handle high pressure situations
- High level of acceptance
- Can drive HCL's value and its methodology

Other Skills/Experience
- Worked on Production systems
- Datacenter understanding
- Experience with Database Migration, Installation, Upgrades and Patching
- 14. Scripting knowledge such as VB Scripts, KIX etc will be an added advantage
- Knowledge of Data Guard/Gateways
- Storage Management Techniques
- Experience on Sun/Veritas/Microsoft Cluster

Years of Experience Total: Above 6+ Years of experience
Relevant: 4+ years of hands-on experience and proficiency in managing and maintaining a medium/large environment (at least Servers)
